Online Training Courses....  The New Classroom

 

 

The Power Zone offers a wide variety of online courses to aid providers in streamlining staff development, while reducing their training costs up to 80%.  The courses provide clear concise information designed to meet the requirements of the Department of Health and Human Services along with your accrediting body.   Staff members have access to instructors during the course for immediate response to questions.

  • Introduction to Providing Direct Care Services - 2 Contact Hours / This course provides guidance for individuals new to the industry on the effective delivery of mental health services and how to transition into the industry.

  • Agency Orientation - 1 Contact Hour / This course outlines the agency expectations, handbook, hours of operations, grievance procedures, etc. 

  • HIPAA / Clients' Rights and Confidentiality - 3 Contact Hour Course  / This course outlines steps required to ensure staff members protect and keep confidential protected health information for the individuals receiving services.

  • Ethical Codes of Conduct - 3 Contact Hour Course / This course outlines the ethical practices staff members must adhere to while providing direct care services.​

  • Workplace Safety - 3 Contact Hour / This course outlines safety practices required for delivery of services on site, as well as in the community. 

  • Safe Driving - 3 Contact Hour / This course outlines safe driving practices required, steps to take in the event of an accident, as well as protocols for seeking emergency medical care. 

  • Therapeutic Interventions and Documentation - 3 Contact Hours / This course outlines appropriate evidenced based interventions to use for common diagnoses and provides guidance on documenting the services delivered.

  • Therapeutic Interventions and Documentation - 3 Contact Hour Course / This course defines what is considered a therapeutic intervention and outlines how to clinically document your service delivery.

  • PCP Instructional Elements - 3 Contact Hour Course / This course outlines how to facilitate the development of a treatment plan, using person centered practices. 

  • Individual Plan of Care  - 3 Contact Hour Course / This course outlines how to facilitate the development of the Plan of Care, using person centered practices. 

  • Crisis Response and Planning - 3 Contact Hours / This course outlines how to facilitate the development of a crisis plan, appropriate identify triggers for the crisis and establish tools and natural supports to help the individual / family work through the crisis.

  • Accreditation Required Emergency Drills - 3 Contact Hours / This course outlines the protocols to follow for the emergencies encountered such as weather related disasters, armed or aggressive intruders, as well as bomb threats.

  • Customer Service - 3 Contact Hours / This course outlines quality customer service that should occur, with employees, consumers and stakeholders, at the inception of their relationship with you and your agency. 

  • Cultural Competency and Diversity - 3 Contact Hours / This course provides an overview of the areas and categories of culture and diversity that can impact service delivery including, but not limited to educational factors, socio-economic factors, religious factors, etc. 

  • Leadership Development - 3 Contact Hours / This courses provides an overview of the roles and responsibilities of individuals in leadership roles and supervisory expectations.

  • Sexual Harassment - 3 Contact Hours / This course provides an overview of sexual harassment concerns that develop with the individuals receiving services, as well as within the office setting.

Documentation Support

The Power Zone has launched a variety of virtual support tools to aid direct care staff members in properly documenting the interventions conducted in clinical, billable service notes.
